Out of sync? Out of funds.
A lack of harmony can crush your fundraising.
↳ Your happiness.
↳ And brand.
This beautiful quote below popped up in my meditation app. And the wise words apply to both life and nonprofit leadership.
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony,” said Mahatma Gandhi.
I can’t think of a better definition of brand building.
Let’s break it down. ⤵
What you think
Your theory of change and positioning strategy
What you say
Your marketing communications
What you do
Your strategic plan
If your thinking isn’t there, you operate aimlessly and funders won’t fund the lack of direction. If your saying isn’t there, donors don’t know about you in the first place. And if your doing isn’t there, foundations won’t see the traction and believe your fundraising pitch.
All three pieces of your brand — thinking, saying, doing — must work harmoniously.
Otherwise, you’re not fundable and findable.
So unite purpose, pitch, and performance.
Mindset, message, and movement.
Strategy, speech, and steps.
Brand first, funding second.
