✔️ They collectively give $17.9 billion to nonprofits annually
✔️ Education and health are the top two issue areas supported
✔️ Poverty alleviation and climate/environment are third and fourth
❌ Barely half support gender equality and women’s empowerment
❌ Just 35% support diversity/inclusion; 15% Indigenous communities
❌ 1 out of 20 is based outside North America and Europe (Hong Kong)
❓ 55% report outcomes, 30% report outputs, and 15% have no reporting

And only 583 grantmaking foundations in India 🇮🇳, none identified in Southeast Asia, with a mere 859 across Latin America. 🌎
Meanwhile, 95% are based in Europe and North America. 🇪🇺🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦
(Which helps explain why local NGOs receive just 0.4% directly of all international humanitarian assistance.)
